Introduction

Diseases pose a significant barrier to increasing the production and productivity of livestock and livestock-derived products. Therefore, by conducting regular surveillance and laboratory testing of livestock diseases, applying timely treatments, medication, and preventive measures, it is possible to eradicate these diseases. This not only increases farmers' income but also improves public health through the availability of high-quality products and facilitates competition in the international market.

Currently, regular diagnosis of livestock diseases is being conducted in the country through the Central Veterinary Laboratory, National Avian Disease Investigation Laboratory, and five Veterinary Laboratories. Key services provided by these laboratories include parasitic identification, pathology, microbiology, and molecular biology. In addition, routine disease surveillance and epidemic disease investigations are also being carried out, which have contributed to the timely and accurate diagnosis and control of cross-border epidemic diseases such as bird flu.
